SKIDS- S/T 7"
Debut release from Melbourne punk band THE SKIDS. Raw riffs that slot in to a 77 KBD pace, while Steph Crase’s guitar flair can’t help swagger itself loose, prompting subtle hints of early 80s LA bands X or Gun Club. The end result would not sound out of place in the post-Birdman Australia of the same era, with the Chuck Berry styled rocker 'alright with me' signing the record off in the spirit of its influences. Zeke’s gruff, deranged vocals narrate heavy doses of confident struttin’ with the odd accent of crippling meltdown. Four tracks of brilliant contemporary outsider punk. One pressing of 300.
